Michigan's Ontonagon County is home to obscure copper mines seldom visited by
mineral collectors.  Several Mines in this vicinity are
known to produce highly unusual minerals, including uraniferous florite,
mercurian silver, tin and tungsten minerals, hyalite opal, and
Large paramelaconite crystals.
                      
This half day tour will begin and end near Mass City, Michigan, and visit
several obscure mines in the search for these exotic minerals. 
The tour will also include some geological comments regarding the unusual
oxidative and greisen environments found in this corner of
michigan's Copper country.
