Honor Dr. King by supporting Gallo of Sonoma workers!
In spring 1968, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis,
Tenn., where he had gone to help African American city sanitation workers on
strike for recognition of their union, AFSCME Local 1733.
Only one month before, Dr. King joined in solidarity with Cesar Chavez, who was
fasting for 25 days in Delano, Calif. to rededicate his farm workers' movement to
the principles of nonviolence.
What would Dr. King say today about the refusal by Matt Gallo and Gallo of
Sonoma to provide health and other basic benefits to 75% of his work force
supplied by farm labor contractors?
Honor Dr. King on his birthday by sending a e-mail to Matt Gallo today!
