Pueblo (1459 Columbia Rd. NW. Near Columbia Heights Metro)
This Killumbus Day.
Protest the Second Colonization of the Americas!
Saturday, October 12th is the 510th anniversary of the first colonization
of the Americas, which began with Columbus in 1492. It was achieved through
the genocidal slaughter of the Americas' original inhabitants, and through
the forced labor of Native American and African slaves and European
indentured servants. Today, corporate globalization and US imperialism
constitute the second colonization of the Americas.
Rally at the statue of Columbus by Union Station, 10:00 A.M.
Afternoon workshops (1:30-5:00) focusing on the Eight Demands of the Latin
America Solidarity Coalition and the American Indian Movement (see
www.lasolidarity.org for more info; organizations in parentheses will
facilitate a workshop on the demand next to which they are listed):

Global Trade Watch)
